Black Adjustable Gate Hinge Pair for PVC Gates
This black adjustable gate hinge pair is the standard hardware for all Simple Fencing PVC gates mounted to 4x4 posts. Use it when ordering a gate-only product, replacing existing hinges, or adding the correct hardware to a new gate opening.
Hinges should be matched to the gate size, post type and gate layout. Wider or heavier gate leaves may require additional support, and some installations may also benefit from a gate castor depending on the surface and expected use.
Compatibility notice
These hinges are designed exclusively for standard 4x4 fence posts and gate frames. They are not suitable for the Portable Picket Gate (82cm x 82cm / 33in x 33in), which uses a narrower 51mm x 89mm (2in x 3.5in) profile.
Best used with
- Standard white PVC picket gates (excluding the Portable series).
- 4x4 gate posts or 4x4 Blank Posts where required by the gate layout.
- A matching latch set, gate catch or drop rod depending on the gate type.

How The Calculator Works
This tool automatically calculates the optimal number of panels and posts for your specific layout based on our 6ft (1.83m) and 8ft (2.44m) panel systems.
Panel Calculation:
The calculator subtracts any gate opening widths from your total fence run, then divides by the panel width to determine the number of panels required. Partial panels are rounded up to a full panel, which may need to be cut to size on-site.
Post Calculation:
Based on your layout, the tool calculates the exact number of End, Line, and Corner posts needed. Blank posts for gate openings are also included if required.
Post Types Explained:
- End Posts: Mark the start and finish of any continuous section of your fence.
- Line Posts: Connect panels in a straight run, placed between your End and Corner posts.
- Corner Posts: Create a 90-degree turn in your fence line.
- Blank Posts: A stand-alone post when your gate is on either side of the fence run.
